Well, as I'm sure you saw from the front page, this car died in an accident
in Bakersfield CA. 3 years of hard work building a beautiful car wiped
away in about 11 seconds... The car will be missed, but has since been
replace with a bit tamer, family sedan.
I never did get to get that roll cage built. Luckily for me, I survived
the accident without a scratch.

Looks
like the clutch install hasn't gone as well as I had hoped. After the
3rd install, I still had a vibration. I removed it for the fourth time,
and sent it back to McLeod again. This time the instructions were to
rebuild it with new parts, rebalance it, certify it's perfect, and send
it back to me one last time. I expect to have it installed next weekend.
I'll keep you posted on how it's working.
The
appointment has been made for the roll cage. I was originally planning
on going with a Wolfe Racecraft cage, but their prices have gotten so
high, that their mail order roll cages are almost as expensive as having
a custom one built for you. Sooo. I decided to have a custom cage built
and installed at PBR in Crockett CA. It will go in on 5/11, and should
be completed within 2 weeks after that.
My goal would be to have it look like Jeff
Stevens cage, seen here.

Well, it's been a tough winter for the car. As my last update was in
regard to the tuning of the nitrous system, I'll start there. That turned
out to be simple. It was a bad Fuel Pressure Safety Switch. Once it
was replaced, all is fine.
In
addition to fixing the nitrous, I also installed a new clutch. The McLeod
Street Twin is a tempramental thing, but now that it is in, I'm really
happy with it's performance, and this should hold all the horsepower
I can throw at it.
